I am Henning Flintholm, a Danish artist based in Berlin.
Music and photography stand side by side in my work. Both are rooted in deep listening, in a quiet, patient observation of the world.
Discovery
Water as landscape.
After a lifelong commitment to music, the need for something more tactile and visual became the driving force behind my photography.
I discovered water surfaces more than ten years ago, entirely by chance. Moving water, frozen in a fraction of a second, turns everything it reflects into unforeseeable, dreamlike landscapes, with quiet affinities to modern abstract painting.
What looks like painting is a single moment.
Origin
Sound as origin.
As a musician and composer I have released more than 100,000 CDs worldwide, was signed to Sony Music and studied at the Royal Danish Conservatory. I have composed for film, television, contemporary ballet and theatre.
My sound is ambient, Scandinavian in tone, quiet, balanced, built for deep listening.
